The Mountaineering Acoustics Network (MAN), launched in 2025 as part of the Mountaineering Acoustics Network & Terrain Lab Equipment (MANTLE), is the world’s first not-for-profit initiative dedicated to defining and advancing mountaineering acoustics. By combining frontier machine learning techniques with immersive outdoor field research, we champion the emerging field of mountaineering acoustics and drive innovation in acoustic science for mountainous environments.
